Off The Hook Is Now Open in Hattiesburg: Our First Mississippi Restaurant

Off The Hook celebrated its Hattiesburg grand opening and ribbon cutting on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, and the Pine Belt showed up hungry. Guests flooded through the doors to welcome our first restaurant outside Louisiana—a milestone that makes Hattiesburg a special part of our story.

Louisiana Roots, a New Mississippi Home

Growing beyond Louisiana is a big step for Off The Hook. It means bringing our food, hospitality and love of Cajun cooking to a new community—and building relationships that extend beyond the restaurant.

“Taking Off The Hook outside Louisiana for the first time is a big moment for our team, and Hattiesburg has made it even more special,” said Paxton Moreaux, CEO and co-owner of Off The Hook. “Seeing guests pour through our doors on opening day was incredible. We’re proud to share the Cajun flavors we grew up with and look forward to becoming part of the Hattiesburg community.”

A Preview Dinner That Got Hattiesburg Talking

Before the grand opening, we pulled up chairs with some of the people who help make the Pine Belt such a connected community.

On Friday, October 16, we hosted an immersive dinner experience for local influencers, community partners and creators. It was an opportunity to introduce Off The Hook, share our flavors and spend time with our new neighbors.

The conversation quickly moved from the dinner table to social media. Attendees began sharing their experiences, and the posts kept coming throughout opening week. Seeing that excitement spread—and then welcoming guests through our doors—made the countdown to opening even more memorable.

Putting Down Roots With Extra Table

Our opening celebration was also an opportunity to support the community we now call home.

During the ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Hattiesburg Area Development Partnership, we honored Extra Table with a donation, beginning a local partnership here in Hattiesburg.

Founded by chef and restaurateur Robert St. John, Extra Table purchases and delivers nutritious, shelf-stable food to food pantries and soup kitchens across Mississippi. We’re proud to support that work as we begin this new chapter in the Pine Belt.
