Off The Hook Hits the Catfish Trail: Celebrating U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish from the Mississippi Delta

copied

At Off The Hook, knowing where our food comes from matters.

That’s why we’re proud to share that Off The Hook in Hammond, Louisiana, has been featured on The Catfish Trail by The Catfish Institute and U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish — a celebration of restaurants across the South committed to serving authentic, American-raised catfish.

The catfish served at Off The Hook is U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish sourced from the Mississippi Delta, a region with a long history of raising some of the South’s most recognizable catfish.

And if you’ve ever wondered how the catfish on your Off The Hook platter gets from the farm to your table, now you can see the story for yourself.

What Is the U.S. Catfish Trail?

The Catfish Trail is a collection of restaurants across the South that serve U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish and celebrate the people, places and traditions behind one of the region’s most iconic foods.

Created by The Catfish Institute, the trail takes catfish lovers to restaurants throughout states including Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Texas and beyond. Its goal is simple: help people discover places serving U.S. catfish the way it was meant to be enjoyed.

Off The Hook’s Hammond, Louisiana location is officially included among the Louisiana stops on The Catfish Trail.

For a Louisiana-born Cajun restaurant, that recognition means a lot to us.

Because catfish isn’t simply another item on our menu. It’s part of the food culture we grew up with.

Our Catfish Comes From the Mississippi Delta

When you order catfish at Off The Hook, you're getting U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish from the Mississippi Delta.

The Mississippi Delta has deep roots in the American catfish industry, where catfish are raised in freshwater ponds before making their way to restaurants and tables across the South.

For Off The Hook, sourcing U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish gives us the quality, consistency and mild flavor we're looking for before the fish ever reaches our kitchen.

Then we take it from there.

Our catfish arrives fresh, and our team hand-cuts the fillets before seasoning and frying them until crispy and golden.

It’s a product with Southern roots, prepared with Louisiana flavor.

Why U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish Matters to Off The Hook

Catfish has been part of Southern food culture for generations.

Fish fries. Friday lunches. Seafood platters. Po’boys.

For many of us, catfish isn't something we discovered on a restaurant menu. It's something we grew up eating.

That's one reason sourcing matters to us.

By serving U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish from the Mississippi Delta, we're able to serve a Southern product while supporting an American industry that has deep roots throughout our region.

It also lets us tell guests exactly what they're getting when they order catfish at Off The Hook.

A Louisiana Catfish Tradition Worth Protecting

Catfish has been part of Southern cooking for generations, especially throughout Louisiana and the Mississippi Delta.

Fish fries. Friday lunches. Seafood platters. Po’boys.

For a lot of us, catfish isn't something we discovered on a menu. It's something we grew up eating.

That’s why sourcing matters.

The Catfish Trail gives people an opportunity to look beyond the plate and learn more about the farmers, restaurants and communities keeping the tradition of U.S. catfish alive.

And we’re proud for Off The Hook to be part of that story.
